H.E. Mr. Ngulkham Jathom Gangte
High Commissioner

Mr. Ngulkham Jathom Gangte assumed charge as High Commissioner of India to
Zambia in November 2017.

He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1994. On completion of training, he held post at West Asia and North Africa Division briefly. His first assignment was at the Embassy of India in Cairo, Egypt (1996-1999), where he served in the capacity of Third Secretary (LT) and Second Secretary. He was then posted to Embassy of India Rabat, Morocco (1999-2002) serving in the capacity of Second Secretary and First Secretary. He then served in Embassy of India Dublin, Ireland (2002-2006). At the Headquarters, he served in the capacity of Deputy Secretary and Director (West Asia and North Africa) from 2006-2008). He then served at High Commission of India, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania as Counsellor and Deputy High Commissioner from 2008-2011. He also served at the Consulate General of India Chicago from 2011-2014 holding the post of Consul (Consular) and as Deputy Consul General. His last assignment was as Joint Secretary (FSI) at the Foreign Services Institute in New Delhi.

Mr. Gangte has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry.

He speaks English, Hindi and Arabic.

He is married to Mrs. Hatmuonkim Gangte and have three sons.
